Storage Land is one of the few self-storage facilities in Brisbane that lets you bring your own shipping container. If you already own a 20ft container but don't have the yard space, the zoning, or the security to store it at home, we give you a dedicated spot on our Archerfield site for a flat monthly rate.

How BYO Container Storage Works

Step 1 - Reserve your BYO spot.Book online or call Jason on 0452 043 647. We'll confirm a spot on the yard and send through delivery instructions so your driver knows exactly where to drop.

Step 2 - Deliver your container.Arrange your own tilt tray or HIAB crane truck to drop your 20ft container at the yard. Our access is truck-friendly with plenty of room to swing a trailer - no tight laneways or low clearance.

Step 3 - Move in and access 24/7.Your container sits on the sealed bitumen yard, elevated on timber blocks. You get a keyfob for the automated gate and can drive straight up to your container any time - day or night.

Storage Land is set up for people who actually use their containers, not just park them. Here's what the yard looks like day to day.

Delivering your container

We'll coordinate a drop-off time that suits you and your transport company. The yard is set up for tilt-tray trucks, side-loaders and HIAB cranes. Driveway is wide, the surface is sealed bitumen, and there's plenty of room for a rigid or articulated vehicle to turn around.

Containers are placed on timber blocks (about 150mm off the ground) so they stay dry, ventilate properly, and don't sit in mud when it rains. If you've ever had a container rust out from the bottom, you'll know why this matters.

Access hours

24/7 gated access with your own keyfob. The front gate uses an Inception access system, so every entry and exit is logged. No office hours, no sign-in sheet, no waiting around for a manager to show up.

Security

We have perimeter fencing, CCTV and a sealed entry gate. The yard is on a light-industrial street with plenty of traffic movement during the day, and the site is dead-quiet at night with full camera coverage.

Insurance

Contents inside your container stay your responsibility, same as at any storage facility. We recommend you insure your container and contents. Happy to point you at insurers that cover 20ft container contents at a yard like ours.

Month-to-month billing

No 12 month contracts. Pay monthly via direct debit, cancel any time with 30 days notice. If your job finishes early or your needs change, you're not locked in.

How much does BYO container storage cost in Brisbane?

At Storage Land in Archerfield, it's $299 per month (inc GST) for a 20ft BYO container hardstand spot. That includes 24/7 gated access, CCTV, sealed bitumen yard, and no lock-in contract. Most traditional storage yards charge $380 to $450 for the same thing, so you're saving $80 to $150 a month.

Do you accept 40ft containers?

We're currently only accepting 10ft and 20ft BYO containers. The 40ft BYO option was paused in April 2026 to make more efficient use of the yard. If you have a 40ft container, give Jason a call on 0452 043 647 and we can talk through your options.

Can you help arrange container delivery and transport?

Yes. We have a short list of tilt-tray and HIAB operators who drop containers into our yard regularly. They know the site, the access gate, and how we want containers positioned on the timber blocks. Give us a shout and we'll put you in touch.

Do you supply containers, or is it only BYO?

Most of our customers rent one of our 20ft steel containers for $299/month fully set up and ready to go. BYO is for people who already own their container. If you want to buy a container and have it dropped at our yard, we can recommend good local suppliers.

What if council makes me move my container off my property?

This is actually one of our most common enquiries. Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Moreton Bay councils are steadily tightening their rules around containers on residential land. If you've had a knock on the door, give us a call - most customers are set up within a week.

How secure is the yard?

The yard has perimeter fencing, CCTV coverage on all approach points, and a gated entry using the Inception access control system. Every gate entry and exit is logged. Your container also has its own lockbox setup which is your responsibility.

Is there a lock-in contract?

No lock-in contracts. Month-to-month, cancel any time with 30 days notice. We'd rather earn your business every month than trap you in a 12 month agreement.
